“I will be providing producers with bull value/cost analysis, quality traits, selection tools, management and fertility testing,” Cleere said. “I will also provide fertility results from a recent Texas Beef Partnership Extension Project study.”

Other topics will cover finances and management, producing safe, wholesome beef, and pasture management after drought.

“We are celebrating 50 years of educating agricultural producers in the Blacklands region, and this year’s conference features several informative sessions on production agriculture,” said Ron Woolley, conference coordinator and AgriLife Extension district director at Stephenville. “We think we have a little bit for everyone, and producers will take home plenty of strategies they can incorporate into their operations.”

The annual conference is sponsored by AgriLife Extension and the Waco Chamber of Commerce.

Registration for the main conference is $20 per person and includes lunch.

Several sessions will award continuing education units. Producers are encouraged to download the brochure at http://stephenville.tamu.edu/blackland-income-growth/conference-information/ to see specific continuing education unit allocations, sessions and speakers.

State Sen. Brian Birdwell, R-Granbury, will be the keynote lunch speaker. Birdwell represents District 22, serves as vice chairman of the higher education committee and is a member of the economic development, government organization and veteran affairs committees.  end_mark
