What education are you bringing with you to this position?
I am a 1994 graduate of the University of Minnesota – Saint Paul, with a bachelor’s degree in animal and plant systems.

Please describe your agricultural background.
I grew up on a small family farm in rural Lanesboro, Minnesota, where we had dairy, swine and beef. I was very active in 4-H and FFA as well. I started my Angus seedstock operation in 2003 and since then have grown it to 20 cows. We sell commercial Angus bulls as well as a few show heifer prospects to other junior exhibitors.

What territory will you cover?
I will be covering southern Minnesota, northern Iowa and western Wisconsin.

What are your new responsibilities?
My responsibilities are to enhance and promote the use of A.I. in beef operations. This will include not only seedstock operations, but commercial cow-calf herds too. I will be consulting with the other district sales managers to grow their territories and assist with their beef customers needs. In addition, I'll be working with new accounts to grow the beef sales and help recruit new independent beef consultants.

What previous positions have you held?
I have been involved in ag sales for over 20 years now, with work experience such as web design and marketing for livestock breeders, ultrasound technology for bovine reproduction, and livestock nutrition to name a few. I also served six years on the Minnesota Angus Association board of directors and served as the state vice president during that time.

How will you be of most help to producers in your region or area of expertise?
With my practical background of having our own herd of Angus cattle, along with work experience in both reproduction and nutrition, I can offer consulting services that will best meet the producers goals for their operation. Depending on their breed of choice, or marketing solutions for their product, I can recommend sires and A.I. protocols that will help improve their bottom line.

Why did you choose this company?
Accelerated Genetics has been a genetic leader in beef A.I. for many years. Their good reputation as a member-owned cooperative, and the long-standing service of many Accelerated Genetics employees, makes it a long-term career position.

What goals would you like to accomplish while in this position?
I would like to see a significant increase in both semen sales and market share for my targeted area. In addition, I would like to see more industry networking on projects and the addition of independent sales reps in areas where we have limited technician service.  end mark
