As the seasons turn, so does a rancher's wardrobe. When the sun comes out, so do the sunglasses and cowboy hats. When the rain and the snow – or irrigation season – arrives, out come the Bogs and insulated gloves.

Progressive Cattle asked readers in an online poll, "Which seasonal article of clothing is most important?"

Rubber boots, the universal footware when dealing with rain, snow, mud or manure – to name a few, came in first with 63.2% of the votes.

Insulated gloves came in second with 17.5% of the votes.

Vests, sunglasses and other items including hats, hoodies and socks, finished the voting at 8.7%, 5.3% and 5.3%, respectively.
