In a recent poll, Progressive Cattleman asked, “What do you think of the Secretary of Agriculture’s plan for a supplemental beef checkoff?”

More than three-quarters (81 percent) of readers said, “Bad idea. The federal agency shouldn’t be collecting the resource.”

Another 12 percent said that they were unsure. While most may not be keen on the idea, 7 percent were open to the supplemental beef checkoff. They said, “Great idea. We need more resources to promote beef.”  end mark
