With high entering-water pressures, the valve uses the water pressure itself, pushing on a piston for assistance in shutoff. At lower pressures, the float directly shuts off entering water. Because of this design, the valve can handle gravity flow pressures of less than 5 psi or extreme pressures in excess of 100 psi. Producers need only one valve to handle this range of pressures.

The dual fulcrum mechanism which shuts water off at high pressures has two other advantages. First, the orifice is several times larger than competing orifices, resulting in very high flow rates. The seven-sixteenths inch orifice is typical of what you would find on a valve designed only for gravity flow. Secondly, ever longer float arms and larger floats are not required to handle ever-increasing water pressures.

This design is robust, low cost and it provides reliable performance under a wide range of pressures while delivering plenty of flow. A patent is pending.  end mark
