In a recent online poll, Progressive Cattleman asked, “At what age do you start paying your kids?”

The majority of readers do pay their kids at some point, though the age range differs. About 10 percent don’t pay their kids until they’re adults, 18 years old or older. Another 21 percent actually start paying their kids before they’re 12 years old. But most readers (38 percent) pay their kids when they’re in their teens, from 12 to 17.
