Another 28 percent said they didn’t approve of the EPA plan, saying now is not the time to hurt corn producers. Another 9 percent said they were not sure.

In November, the EPA launched its plan to reduce 3 billion fewer gallons of ethanol blends in gasoline than the Renewal Fuel Standard had initially required. The administration said higher gas mileage efficiency in today’s cars, and lower demand for gasoline, contributed to the proposal.
