The handheld RangeTracker is equipped with a compact directional antenna that can detect the RangeTag signal from 3 to 5 miles away.

A current customer, Jim Lynch-Staunton, has said, "Our rider has been very happy using the handheld and the new operating system. It is very easy for him."

In other applications, the RangeTag and RangeTracker have made roundup of cattle more efficient. What would have taken weeks was reduced to days.

Tagsmyth was founded by a rancher-engineer who saw a need in his ranching lifestyle that could be solved with modern technology. The company was born out of a need to track livestock in mountainous terrain. Future products include GPS-enabled tags and advanced software for 24-hour monitoring.
